What's Up?
My wife Mel and I set some fitness goals months ago for ourselves. However, like most people, we started off really well and then eventually declined in our productivity. My wife attended a networking event and meet a lady named Larese who worked at La Fitness. Mel said “Babe we need to work out and be fit and ready to travel and be prepared for when we have babies.” I didn’t feel we needed to workout out however I wanted to be fit, so I agreed and just like that we signed up for a membership. Soon after, we met with a personal trainer, and we both outlined our goals with Rachel R. Comer our new trainer:
Mel’s 3 areas of improvement and why?
Mel’s Why? Looking good in clothes, feeling good and having more energy.
Ray’s 3 areas of improvement and why?
Ray’s Why? Because I choose to live a long life, I’m motivated by spouse, having more energy, and gaining weight.
We worked out on March 14 with our trainer Rachael, despite what was going on with Coronavirus before it got really serious to our knowledge. It was quite some time since my wife and I felt pushed, challenged, encouraged, motivated, and working towards a goal. Once we scheduled our next appointment, BOOM! Everything was shut down! Quarantine was recommended for everyone besides essential workers. There was an order in place by Donald Trump to stay at home!
Aw man, right when I was getting a flow and had a desire to workout. Our coach sent us some exercises via text, which we did a few times. I felt it wasn’t enough, it wasn’t the feeling when I was in the gym. So I decided my wife and I should workout via FaceTime with Rachel coaching us. My wife loved the idea and called it FaceTime Fitness. So collectively we all worked out and felt the workout and burn thanks to our fitness coach Rachel.
It has been about ten years since I played competitive basketball. Being a disabled athlete, I believe once an athlete always an athlete. It is really important to have a coach to help bring the best out of you. After my basketball career, I was limited to how much I could push myself and had many blind spots.
The benefits of having a coach are:
“ One’s philosophy is not best expressed in words; it is expressed in the choices one makes. In the long run, we shape our lives and we shape ourselves.”
Eleanor Roosevelt
It’s all about your GPA! And no, I’m not talking about your grade point average.
